“I’m very pleased with the diatomite litter and box. Haven’t noticed any odor at all and the urine really does “disappear”. The only issue I have is the tracking. (Might have something to do with my cat running in and out of the box at a million miles a hour )”
“Three cats, four boxes. Definitely low dust compared to the fine grain silica litter. The cats track it everywhere though and you'll need to sweep a lot more often. I appreciate that the more used it gets, the less oder than the silica.”
“I love thé disposable litter boxes with silica. Thought we’d switch to diatomite to reduce dust, and it was a huge mistake. Within a week our laundry room (where we keep the litter box) smelled so bad of ammonia it was hard to walk in there at all. After 1 box of this (which didn’t last more than a week) we switched back to silica fine grain.”
“I accidentally ordered the diatomite litter instead of the fine silica litter. What a huge misktake! The litter stinks terribly after about two weeks, even when scooping daily. The product description also claims the litter is non tracking, which is completely false. It gets everywhere! Two litter mats didn’t help.”
“I waited and tried 2 different boxes of this cat litter. Not only is it messy even with a mat it smells like dirt and does not keep odor down at all. My house smells like cat urine! I order a box every 2 weeks to switch it out sooner, we scoop everyday and it still smells very bad. Not happy with this at all!”
“I’ve been using kitty poo club for over a year and I thought it would try the new diatomite litter. We usually use the fine grain silica but thought I’d try something more environmentally friendly. What a terrible decision. Boy does it stink! It smells musty and just reeks. I have two cats and switch the litter out frequently and both times I used it, it smelled up the entire room. We went back to the silica as fast as we could!!!”
