“I used fine grain silica for a long time. The odor control was excellent, but didn't like the fine white dust all over my apartment. This past month I got diatomite litter. Love the texture, and minimal dust, but the litter smelled terrible when I opened the bag!! It smells of mold and mildew and every time the cat uses it the odor permeates throughout the home. The box is kept in and enclosed cabinet and I still smell it. I don't know if it's a fluke as I haven't seen any other reviews complaining of this. Going back to fine grain for next month...perhaps I'll give diatomite another try. All that aside, I will NEVER go back to clumping litter!!! Absolutely love the convenience of KPC!!”
“This litter was not the best for my cat. Within 2 weeks, the bottom of the litter box was saturated with urine despite me mixing the liter twice a day. The smell was strong. This litter was not for us.”
