“I have been a loyal Kitty Poo Club member for awhile now. The fine grain silica litter literally changed our lives!!! It has been the best thing any cat parent could possibly wish for in a odor controlling litter. I accidentally ordered the diatomite litter last month and I want to die!!! The smell takes me back to our days of using regular scoopable litter, but worse. The urine smell is out of control and literally makes my eyes water. I didn't really notice a problem until about week 2. I can't get the silica back soon enough! We LOVE kitty poo club, but only recommend the SILICA litter...stay away from this stuff!”
“I tried this litter AND am going back to the silica. This litter has poor odor control.The silica maintained odor control well into the third week. The diatomite did have less tracking out of the litter boxes but the lack of odor control makes it a a NO.”
“I have been using the fine grain silica but I decided to try the diatomite. Awful! It was like clay litter and I could smell the poop & pee. I’m going to try the regular silica and see how I like that. I’ve been using the fine grain silica but thought I would try the other litters.”
“I love this concept because I have such a hard time keeping up with my cat’s litter box. This is super quick and easy to clean and then a new box comes and you just change it out! The customer service is excellent too! The litter I picked is pretty dusty though, so I might try a different type.”
“LOVE the disposable feature of the litter box and the smart fold up design, never leaks or caused issues as long as I’m careful opening the taped seem of the box it is shipped in. But I’ve tried several types of litters and have not found one I love. The fine grain silica was easy to scoop and stir but it left dust on everything in the room as well as both of my cats. I’d have to wash my hands after petting them. Yuck! Then I switched to the larger grain silica which was harder to scoop and felt like stepping on LEGOS where it tracked! Then I tried the soy which immediately smelled (within 1-2 days we could smell strong urine odor). Then I think we tried the diatomite which smelled like MOLD straight out of the bag—it was HORRIBLE! So I’m cancelling my subscription. Great litter box design. TERRIBLE litter.”
“I got this because my cats clay litter was very smelly and dusty and I was ready for a change. This box was easy to put together and fill and the first month has gone really well. My cat loves it. There is a bit of dust, though much less than my previous litter. It tracks a lot. It’s all over the house. I suspect a litter catching may would fix this, plus these particles are much easier to vacuum then clay litter. It’s been almost a month and there’s basically no smell. In fact, it seems it could go a whole other month if I needed it to.”
