I have an 18 year old cat. Generally, most of the varieties of litter I've tried from Kitty Poo club have been great. This one, however, is not. I have a large mat under the litter box that extends 3 feet from it,and even with that, the little balls get tracked all over the house. The odor from the litter box is so much stronger than with other types of litters. I had to move my delivery of silica litter up because the odor was so bad from the diatomite litter. Never again.

Our cat did like using it which is more than I can say for a similar style litter that didn't have as nice feel on her feet I guess. And the disposable box is at least big enough, but I did find that urine would dampen the bottom corners before it could be fully absorbed which could just be because our cat likes to pee in the corners and not right in the middle of the box. We cleaned out any solids and stirred daily, and still by 3 weeks we had to dump it all. In comparison to the crystal litter we were using in the other litter box, it did not control the odor nearly as much and didn't last nearly as long before needing to be changed. On the other hand it certainly was better than clay or any natural clumping litter I've used.

My boy had no problem making the transition from his old box and litter to this set up. It really is like night and day stink-wise. It’s so much cleaner and not gross at all, I think we are all much happier!

The diatomite is great but tracks a little with cats that jump out of their boxes! Otherwise amazing and no smell!

I decided to try to the diatomite, because of the zero dust. It did not work for my cat, but when I reached out asking about it, the staff was very helpful in explaining that some cats do not do well with this type. The fine grain silica worked perfectly for my cat, so Kitty Poo Club sent me a complimentary box of the litter that works! I was not expecting that—great customer service!

The diatomite is easy to scoop and stir and the cats like it. We use a combination of some boxes of this and some of the corn and wheat. Cats like both. Love that there is no dust!

I tried it, not sure if my cats would use it. They did . The timing is PERFECT because I just disposed of it today (low smell) and my new one will be delivered tomorrow . I still have other litter boxes going because I have 4 cats and the cost of 3-4 kitty poo boxes would be too expensive but I’m working on a solution to that to cut the cat smell down . I do really like it , if you only have one or two cats I’d highly recommend (or if you have more cats and the funds , for sure !!
