Standard Disposable Litter Box (Fine-Grain Silica) Reviews

4.7 Rating 11,857 Reviews
We tried the Silicia first, and we loved it, its so much less work and almost no disposal, but the Silicia litter pieces are pretty big, and we kept stepping on them and they hurt if youre not wearing shoes in the house. So we ordered a box of Fine-Grain instead, and this works out great for us, very happy with it, sad we didnt start using it earlier! Our only wish: please put a little bit more litter in the bags, I can see the bottom of the litter box very often.

I have mixed with the litter we were using and wish the 1st shipment came with a bag to mix and get cat use to it and then the regular bag to go 100% with. I can't wait for the 2nd shipment so I will have only the new product in box. I think I will really like it but since it is a mixture right now with clumping litter it's hard to tell. I tried not to mix but cat refused to use it and then when I mixed 50-50 it was fine with it. Each scoop gets rid of the old stuff but since it is clumping it takes the silicon litter with it. I also got the dome part but has not used it yet as Motley is almost 11 y.o. I have to make changes slowly. He has been through a lot as his human mother passed away a year ago and he came to me, a stranger. He seems to not mind the change in litter and I'm glad because this stuff does not have any odor or perfume smell to it.

This review is 3.5 weeks into our first order. The good: this is super simple to set up, and I like that I get to just throw it away or recycle it every month. The box design is also really cute! My cats took to it instantly and a few even rolled around in the fresh litter like they were at the worlds best litter party. Rating from the cats is 10/10. The bad: we got the fine silica litter, and we scoop our four boxes daily. Even with that, the litter stinks and the pee started soaking through the cardboard in places in week 3. I had to chuck one of the boxes last week because it was just destroyed with pee, but admittedly that was their favorite box to pee in. We stir the litter around *very* well each day and get in all the corners, but its no match for the rivers that our dear boys put out every day. Also, both my husband and I have asthma and the dust and funk that the litter kicks up when we clean the boxes has us coughing and wheezing. We started to wear masks (thanks, COVID!) while we clean the boxes and it has helped some. Were going to try the regular size silica next and getting new boxes every 3 weeks instead of 4. Theres a lot of good here, and Im hoping that once we settle on the right litter type and replacement schedule we will have found the best option yet for litter.

I have not had an indoor cat in a lot of years. This cat litter really absorbs the order and is very low maintenance. Great product.

After I finally changed lighter weight litter I love it. Had to get me and my kitty, apollo, out of the clay habit. So far so good and much easier to handle.

I do love this product. It really does keep the smell in the litter all month. It is not dust free. There is more dust that flows up then any other litter I have tried. I am pregnant which is one of the reasons I switched to this product. I have to wear a mask if I am putting the litter in there. The box is waterproof and lasts all month long! The box this month did seem flimsy compared to last month so I would like to see consistency in quality of the box. Overall I have a three, I’m not highly satisfied but also not disappointed.
