“I really wish I could give this a 3.5, but will round up to a 4 instead of down to a 3. We received the fine grain because our cats were having trouble adjusting to the regular silica (they’ve since transitioned nicely). Now, this litter is still far superior to store-bought clumping litter in every way imaginable, but it’s not nearly as good as the regular silica, which is far less messy! This fine-grain litter spreads everywhere! It sticks to kitty paws much more than the regular silica. On top of that, even with regular maintenance, this litter type doesn’t seem to stay as dry as the regular silica. It takes on the consistency of wet sand, which I think makes the tracking worse.”
