The silicate is pure white initially, and it's very easy to remove the solid waste, while the liquid remains stirred in, with very little odor remaining. The box, after unpacking, makes an excellent litter box with sides, and absolutely no leaking, due to its magical coating, There is enough litter to generously fill the box several inches deep, with left over to add to the box during the month, if needed. I have two kitties who use this product, so have boxes in two different locations. The best feature of all is the disposable nature of the box. No dumping litter and washing boxes, you just fold the used litter up in the box and dispose. You don't have to deal with or touch the litter. The product is relatively dustless and so easy to use.
