“My shower does seem to be much cleaner without too much effort, it has removed soap scum on the glass and lower tiles, have used it twice, I find the mitt very big and hard to use, do I use it wet? any advice would be much appreciated

Just give it a quick rinse and wring it out before using with the foam. That helps keep control and makes scrubbing a lot easier, especially on glass and tiles.
