“I bought several of these fittings to light a large loft space. They are fine for this purpose although connecting the wiring and earth to the fittings is fiddlier than others I've done. They are advertised as "IP44 rated" which means they should be suitable for an environment where water spray can come from all directions. The packaging certainly says "IP44" but with grommets that wouldn't always seat correctly and a plastic lens seal that had sometimes been cut slightly too short it doesn't give me the most confidence that water would stay out. I'd be happy to use them again in a dry environment particularly bearing in mind the price, but would look for something else if an installation was outside”
