“A work colleague showed me the huge selection of effects/patterns available for his Twinkly tree and I assumed there was no way you'd have the same degree of control with the 'strings' which are like regular Christmas lights, placed on a real tree - but I was wrong!
There's a calculator on the Twinkly website to work out how many lights you need, then the app includes a mapping function where it changes the colour of each LED so it knows where every individual LED is, so you can get the full range of effects, and link multiple strings or other Twinlkly products together to expand the effects.

“I had read about these lights on the internet. They are fabulous. Not too tricky to set up. I put them on the tree before the decorations, the tree did not need anything else. But I'll put the other things on anyway. My tree is about 4 ft. With the 250. Any bigger and I would go for more strings.”
