“Took the children (10 & 12) and the whole family LOVED it!! A totally immersive, exciting and atmosphere transportation back into time. So entertaining, realistic and totally different from anything else. Would thoroughly recommend!”

“It was well organised and the staff were excellent. They did everything they could to make sure you enjoyed the experience. When I was a little unsure of the first VCR Experience they gave me drink tokens. Which was thoughtful. I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it as suitable for most ages.”

“Last week a friend took my son (almost 8) and me along with her son (age 8 and-a-half) to the Gunpowder Plot. We really enjoyed it and the boys got way into it! I found the storytelling quite moving: it’s hard not to have sympathy for the plight of the Catholic rebels. But quickly my mind jumped to today, when religious fundamentalism and domestic terrorism are the terms that would apply to a similar plot. I think the writers did a good job of creating an ethical dilemma for the audience. The actors were superb. The VR tech worked well. I think Layered Reality is onto a good thing and I hope they create many more different experiences in the future. As it’s recommended for ages 12+, I wouldn’t have taken my son without his friend who’s close in age being there. A few times they said to each other that they weren’t scared, think they might have been scared if they had not had one other to say that to. (The content warnings were mostly around swearing and graphic descriptions of violence and torture.) As the FAQ says, it’s not scary for the target age group. I’m glad we got snacks in the bar before the show. The nachos and sweet potato fries were tasty and good value for central London. The way the interval worked was great too.”
