“Unfortunately, after seeing The War of the Worlds - The Gunpowder was very underwhelming. Sadly the VR was repetitive and not as gripping as before. The actors were great and very dedicated however a lot of waiting and standing around. Sadly I was very disappointed with this experience, after having such a great experience at War of the Worlds.”
“A great idea. First encounter was with a Catholic prisoner on the Tower who told a convoluted tale of woe. Unfortunately so quietly no one heard him. We escaped via VR (no spoilers here - suffice to say that was fun). There was various running around corridors ducking beams trying to hear what the guide was saying. Next VR encounter was in a boat on the Thames - which started well but when the boat took off Harry Potter style it all got a bit silly. More chasing around until we got locked in a cage and three actors had a fight/row/fight outside. We’re not sure who was for and against, or why we were let go, it was difficult to see anything as there was 14 other people in the way! Final VR before exit didn’t work and I got no response from staff so I’m not sure exactly how it concluded. The person I was with said there was a kings speech, then scenes through time ending in fireworks. Go figure…
Exit via the gift shop.
Waited 40+ mins for food at the end.
So to conclude- a spirited attempt by the actors, a muddled script/scenario, generally fun VR and moderate customer service.”
“Really enjoyed it. Exactly the same layout as the WOTW experience. The actors are good, the atmosphere is great as well. Does a good job of portraying medieval London. One slight criticism is that the VR sequences are a bit long for what they are showing, but overall, it's great fun. With drinks and food it makes for a fun afternoon. Highly recommended!”
