“Much better than straight steel wedges or hardwood wedges. I split 3 cords a year by hand and this is my "go-to" splitting accessory. It even handles tough woods like spruce and arbutus.”

“I can’t believe this actually works exactly how I wanted and needed it to! It’s a mandatory purchase for any green wood carver. I was able to split a whole tree’s worth of mulberry logs cleanly in half and get them in the drying shed before they started checking too badly — which means I did it in less than an hour. Also, the wedge starts as easily as the website says it does. Not only does that spare your shoulder, and potentially your thumb, but it means it isn’t so dependent on gravity to stay put. You can work it in diagonally and it’ll stick, so you can split logs that aren’t flat-bottomed, and you can split the secondary surfaces of Y-shaped logs. It’s life-changing.”
