It is geared towards middle readers, but younger children would enjoy having it read to them. Adults would find the historical elements particularly engaging. The characters are well-drawn and the story rings true. The brother-sister banter is humorous and realistic and both the main plot and sub-plots are well-developed. As for the mystery, the reader is left guessing until the very end. The book's conclusion ties up all the various threads of the story in a neat and creative way and is very satisfying. The Chanukah theme adds to the fun. I look forward to reading more books by this author.”
