The Mystery of the Lost Watch Reviews

What a great book! My family received this book as a gift and it was such a pleasurable read. The book is well-written and well-researched and gives the reader an interesting look at Jewish life in 1950s Canada. It is geared towards middle readers, but younger children would enjoy having it read to them. Adults would find the historical elements particularly engaging. The characters are well-drawn and the story rings true. The brother-sister banter is humorous and realistic and both the main plot and sub-plots are well-developed. As for the mystery, the reader is left guessing until the very end. The book's conclusion ties up all the various threads of the story in a neat and creative way and is very satisfying. The Chanukah theme adds to the fun. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
