The Evotec CAST Medium action rods are ideal for delicate fly presentation and encourages longer power application through the smoothest of full flex rod actions.
Each rod in this flex tempo is designed for freshwater fishing. These models provide pleasure and performance in equal and delicate measures. From presenting the tiniest of dry flies to rolling out a spey cast for summer run migratory fish, the Evotec CAST Medium rods offer absolute enjoyment with no compromise in performance.

The Evotec Cast series was a great idea: same line-up of rods in your choice of three actions--Medium, Medium-Fast, and Fast. Since I gravitate toward full-flex, medium action rods, I bought the 6wt, 12-foot Cast M, when they were on closeout, as a summer steelhead rod for the North Umpqua and Rogue. This stick is exactly what I was looking for. With a 390 grain scandi short head and a 14-foot mono leader, it casts long tight loops smoothly and easily, even with wind-resistant skating flies. It's got plenty of power, yet it loads easily and is still very pleasant to cast after long hours on the water. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. There just aren't enough two-handed rods on the market offering this slower "medium" action, and I'm sorry to see that the Evotec Cast line of rods has been discontinued. However, I hope that Loop won't stop making medium-action spey rods!

Have no idea why I waited quite so long to buy this, as it is the perfect rod for the River Shin (Upper and Lower), in Sutherland, Scotland. Timing is quite different to 'modern' style rods - especially Switch rods of 11' or 11'6", which 'fling' out a rather unsubtle and 'thick' line to compensate for small length; (after all, a switch rod is a single-hand rod with an extra handle!) - so the medium action of the Loop 12ft with 6# line is effortless and precise and accurate. Even overhead casting with a Sunray fished square is effortless, as everything is short and lightweight (anything longer is basically pointless there) - but it has loads of power to cast across big pools when needed. I was lucky to get a grilse before breakfast on our first morning, so I didnt have to wait long to be impressed by how easily it played a fish too. Excellent and beautifully made product and cannot recommend more - plus the 'cane' colour stands out in a full rod box!
