“I had a Luminox Navy Seal Dive Watch. Biggest piece of junk I’ve ever had. Bezel fell off, one of the hands fell off and the seal was compromised and it filled with condensation all within a 2 year period. And, I am NOT hard on my watches. Emailed Luminox and got absolutely ZERO response. Fool me once…..”

“A beautiful watch, with a really handsome Blue dial which looks better in person. I love the watch and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.”
“-> There are so many brand names in the Swiss Automatics world...Rolex/Omega/Longines/Rado et al...
-> Received my first Luminox 0924 Diver Automatic few days back, and even after owning Omega Seamaster, Longines GMT, Baume et Mercier, Frederik Constant & a few Tissots, I am impressed.
-> What sets Luminox apart - is its self powered luminous dial and hands.
Tritium tubes encased in the hour markers, hour and minute hands, also on the 12 o'clock bezel...glows with a uniform hue at night/dark places continuously without needing to be "charged up" by a flashlight...
-> Dependable Selitos 200 movement - Swiss made.
-> Eminently affordable, this brand is sure to make a mark in next few years in the Swiss watch industry.”
“In 1996, at the age of 13, I saved my pennies and dimes (giddy up) to purchase a Luminox Navy Seal. At the time I didn’t know much about anything, but the darn thing was made with tritium and glowed all the time and that was enough. The purchase corresponded to my PADI diver certification and was my first watch purchase ever. Little did I know it would be the only watch I would own for the next 2.5 decades. For over 25 years that Navy Seal sat on my wrist and saw hundreds of open water dives, 4 years of Texas high school (what do you mean bull riding isn’t an elective athletic activity in Minnesota?), drunken “events” in college, survived boot camp, 8 years as an officer of the line, 2 years in the oil fields, and over 15 years as an engineer working on production equipment and in a laboratory. 25 years later (almost to the day) the Navy Seal was replaced (still in perfect working order and with only a little more “character”) with this Automatic Sport Timer and my only regret is that I didn’t consider this watch sooner.
When I ventured out to find a new watch I wasn’t even looking at Luminox, the carbonox chunk on my wrist had been reliable and functional but wasn’t what I considered elegant or fashionable. I had wife approval for anything up to a Rolex GMT (which is impossible to find) and had talked myself down to settle on a Tudor GMT or an Omega Seamaster. After spending a few weeks bemoaning the decision I realized I just wasn’t happy with the options and started poking around at other brands. When I saw this watch I was a little hesitant because it wasn’t in that Tudor/Rolex/Omega category (again, stupid me) but I’m nothing if not loyal and decided to take the plunge. I’ve now had the watch on my wrist for ~3 months and it has not disappointed: The crown is screw down (and the logo aligns at high-noon!), the bezel is ceramic and not aluminum, the unidirectional rotation is crisp and centers up nicely at 12 with a nice illuminated circle, the power reserve is ample, the metal “luminox” logo is striking, the automatic movement is accurate and quiet (quieter than my Navy Seal), the anti-reflective coating actually works, the face is sapphire (and a display back which is also crystal), and the band is smooth with enough links to flex well on the wrist. I am particularly rough on things so I appreciate that the crystal is FLAT as opposed to convex (like the Tudor) and I’ve already had a few near misses that may have damaged a different (lesser?) watch.
So look, here’s the bottom line. It sits great on the wrist at 42mm (about the size of a GMT or Submariner) and the only other brands with as many features are Omega and Rolex. If you’re looking at a Navy Seal or similar this is a great upgrade and frankly it’s not remotely “settling” or a downgrade if you’re already looking at those other luxury brands. I don’t have much to say regarding the “in-house movement” movement but that may be the only detractor if you’re part of that group.
A couple of notes, the bezel is a little thin and gives the face a larger appearance so it may look/wear a little bigger than a normal Navy Seal, but they are the same size case and should be interchangeable if you’re already comfortable with the original Luminox. Also, I can attest from personal experience that the illumination on my Navy Seal has lasted 25 years (and it still glows albeit much less); and this watch is BRIGHT. The metal interior wall between the bezel, crystal, and face along with the ample illumination tubes makes this an exceptionally bright watch and it may attract the attention of babies or small animals.
Thank you Luminox, you should be proud.”
Thank you so much for sharing your Luminox story and adding such detailed and thought-out feedback and testimonial on our brand and product we truly appreciate it !
“This watch has become my daily wear watch.
I have a couple of other Tool watches, with many functions, that I still use for specific times, but I find this 0924 to be my current favorite watch.
I am a Ship Captain and I race Sled Dogs in the Winter.
Although this watch is not rated as a +2/-2 second chronometer, like my ROLEX, I have found that on average, this 0924 stays at about that range, which pleases me greatly.
The ceramic bezel is unblemised, even though I wear this around my ranch and my 26 Sled Dogs.
I highly reccomend this watch!”
