Matias Premium Wireless Aluminum Keyboard for Mac - Space Gray Reviews

Context: I bought this keyboard as a temporary option while I wait for the new version of the Matias Quiet Pro keyboard to become available. Long term, I also expect to be very useful in situations where a tethered keyboard would be inconvenient and/or whether I want to take advantage of its ability to switch rapidly between driving a MacBook Pro and an iPad. Review: As far as speed, accuracy, tactile experience and ergonomics go, this keyboard doesn’t even come close to Matias’s mechanical key-switch keyboards, the Quiet Pro and the earlier Tactile Pro, both of which I’ve used and absolutely love. And because my work often involves typing European language names and and words, I also miss the the OPTION-characters that are engraved on the mechanical models. But I knew about these “deficiencies” when I bought the keyboard and I knew it would be like typing on a laptop – so no surprises or complaints there. As far as ergonomics go, I find this keyboard, with its fixed slope, is angled more steeply than I’d like – I prefer my keyboards nearly flat to avoid having to tip my hands up at the wrists. Also, because it’s so slim, the front edge is much too close to the desk surface, exacerbating the wrist problem. My solution: I taped a large rectangle of 6mm thick firm foam sheet underneath the keyboard (but not the battery compartment across the back), which raises the front of the keyboard by nearly the right amount – 8mm might have been better. All in all, this has been a good purchase and I’ll find it very useful. I would definitely recommend it to others.

A pretty good keyboard. Doesn't have the awesome feel of the butterfly keys on my laptop, but it connects quickly and there's no need to worry about charging the keyboard. A legitimate alternative to the overpriced apple version. I would recommend forking out extra for the fancy lights--I wish I did.

Excellent keyboard. nice key action and, although I like the minimal action of Apple's current MacBook Pro keyboards, the Matias isa pleasant change. Flawless bluetooth action, very long battery life (and USB rechargeable) with numeric keyboard (didn't realise how much I had missed that until I had access to one again...). Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for shopping with us! We're very happy to have you as a customer. My name is Robert, I am the owner of Macfixit Australia and I was hoping that if you had a little more time and if it was not too much trouble perhaps you could also leave a note of your positive experience under the Product Review website for us. We find that unless we ask our customers, we very rarely have any positive notes left under the review website and it certainly helps other potential customers in the decision making to determine if they should purchase from us. If you left your positive note I would very much appreciate it. Please find the link to the Product Reviews website under the link below: http://www.productreview.com.au/p/macfixit-australia.html Thank you for your time and we hope to see you in our store again soon.

Quite a nice keyboard. Key stroke feel is marginally more along than apple wireless. Some keys are slightly less sensitive (pressing on the very edge of secondary delete might not register), but overall a nicely made keyboard that matches the space grey laptop very nicely

I would recommend this keyboard to everyone. It should be the keyboard that comes standard with an iMac, no wire, the full number pad, mac quick keys and a seemingly good battery length.
