“I read the warning regarding the difficulty of this upgrade and ordered the battery with some fear. But I have to say the instruction video is fantastic, so if you go slow and follow it step by step, it's not that hard. It is messy though, when you get to removing the adhesive!
The only extra tip I would give is to use a piece of cardboard (say the box the battery comes in) to push the screws into, grouping them with the components as you remove them.”

“I ordered a replacement battery for my 2012 15” MacBook Pro which has given it a new life. Although there was a delay for this order as supplies were on order from OS, the item proved to be pretty straight forward to install with the supplied kit that comes with the NewerTech battery. Unfortunately I only got a couple of charges out of the battery before it failed but MacFixit issued a new replacement very quickly and it installed easily and has been working 100% for a number of weeks now. This MacBook Pro was the first Retina and SSD model and even though its 6 year old it still has plenty of power and speed and ALL the ports on the side! So a new battery for a reasonable price has really given this Mac a new life. Peter (Mac-Access)”

“This kit had everything I needed to replace the battery in my now vintage mid 2012 15” MacBook Pro Retina display. To be fair the process is not for the faint hearted but great care has been taken by the manufacturer to provide as much assistance as possible. The step by step photos on the website were great! MacFixit were awesome to deal with and, even though there was a huge delay in delivery (becasue of an overseas supply problem - not MacFixit’s fault) they kept me informed and up to date. Another customer service win for MacFixit!”
