“We have a 2012 27" iMac 13,2 with a core i5 CPU. This thing is as slow as a wet weekend and I really regret buying it. Following best advise I opted to try for a RAM upgrade to try to make it breath better. It had 16Gb but when I saw MacFixit's special offer I took the chance to buy 4 x8Gb sticks, maxxing out the machine at 32Gb. The order and delivery happened within days of each other and the sticks were fitted easily, taking about 10 minutes in all. Top marks to MacFixit for their service, sadly the iMac has not improved and is still a nightmare, neither OnyX nor Etrecheck can find the problem and Activity monitor shows nothing untoward so it must just be a slug by nature.”
