“This is a great little upgrade option to revive an old iMac, allowing you to add an SSD IN ADDITION to the existing hard drive (so you can have two internal SSDs if you choose to.) My only complaint is its a little overpriced for what it is (one cable and a bit of double sided tape) but, combined with the OWC how to video, is a great way to upgrade.”

“Ordered my cable to attach a new SSD to my 27 inch mid 2011 iMac. Had an initial problem with Australia Post, lazy delivery person.
Got onto Macfixit. Jacob is a champion, stellar customer service. Quite often missing in a lot of businesses these days. This guy needs a pay rise. Especially after dealing with my grumpy email. Apologies mate. Got it on the second try. Very fast postage.
Anyway, Macfixit genuinely provide great products and service. My iMac now flies along.
Make sure you follow the YouTube instructions to the letter when installing this cable or hard drive kit. The display ribbon cable is a pain to reinstall.
The motherboard for these iMacs has the bottom facing you when you open the machine up. You take out a series of screws before levering out the logic board to get the cable installed into the spare SATA port.
Apple make good equipment, they are woeful for ease of use. This type of iMac is probably the last version that is easy to upgrade things yourself.
