“I bought this for a single use, to recover files from a dead MacBook Air. It certainly worked and I was able to get the important files off it.
But for a one-time use, it is expensive! The nice-looking aluminium case was not necessary for my needs as the SSD was damaged and could not be used reliably. I would have been happy with just the tiny card inside it. Or even just to rent it for a week. Hate having something sitting around unlikely to ever be used again.”
“The Mac air we had wasn’t turning on (3 beeps) and I didn’t really have the knowhow or patience to try any of the melting the motherboard techniques. This allowed us to take out the ssd and then recover all the data with the new Mac we had. So very handy :)”

“My late 2011 MacBook Air suffered memory loss/malfunction on the logic board and I needed to salvage the SSD from it to breathe new life into the drive. This is a great device from OWC and it works a treat! It is extremely well made and cleverly designed and ideally "fit for purpose". The Clickspot staff were most helpful and well informed about this product and after the discussions with them, it was a no-brainer for me to go ahead with the deal.
