“You’ve read it a million times, but it really can’t be said strongly enough: Replacing your aging HDD for an SSD will transform your old laptop into a fast, modern machine, hardly different to the latest models. This OWC 2Tb is a great option; a fair amount of money but a fraction of the price of a new laptop, which is essentially what you’re buying yourself. I converted the SuperDrive into an SSD bay and installed there instead. Startup time is ridiculously fast, programs launch in seconds not minutes, and there’s acres of space. A total no-brainer, folks!”
