“Totally silent, small, light weight, and very fast. I replaced my old HDD with a 480GB OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6G SSD. Wow! If you have a not quite up to date PC/MAC I thoroughly recommend updating to a SSD drive for your OS.
I could boil the kettle waiting for the HDD to boot, not with the SSD, I get straight down to making noise(Music Maker) Thank you to the Macfixit support team for their excellent advice.”
“Have installed 5 of these now -- first rate performance -- no problems. The Aussie dollar is hitting the price a bit now but this is the most cost effective way of adding several years of life to an older machine and giving massive speed increases which makes for appealing computing. The added benefit of this model is that, when an old machine eventually goes to computing heaven, the drive is still a very useful fast external drive.”
