“There was a slight delay in sending the SSD out, presumably due to Covid-19 logistics issues. It was easy to track, and I was able to remove another product from the order to avoid a longer delay.
The SSD itself was very easy to install. This was a replacement for a dead original Apple SSD in a mid-2015 MBP Retina 15", and I was able to follow the OWC Youtube video and be back up and running in about 30 mins. Apple quoted $1,500 to do the replacement, and the OWC SSD is double the speed at 80% cost saving.”

“I was a bit unsure whether to purchase a SSD from Macfixit and attempt to install myself. I’m not all that technical but it appeared to be pretty straightforward. Their website makes it really easy to identify what drive you need. Once purchased and delivered, I tried to install and had some issues. I emailed their support team and I was pleasantly surprised to get a response back within a few hours. Their guidance helped me to put the OS back on and the machine is working great now. “My installed 1TB Aura SSD died a sudden death after 3-1/2 years of brilliant service. An expanding battery issue with my MacBook Pro likely had something to do with its demise.
Rather than change to another brand, I decided to go with this one as a replacement. Order process was organised and simple with delivery occurring in a timely manner (ahead of Christmas) and well packaged!
Install remained as easy as it was the first time, with great instructions online, simple physical install process and downloading the software worked like a charm (was worried about comments about Apple’s latest software blocking downloads to 3rd party drives, but was happy when it completed).
Looking forward to another many years with this one, to keep my MBP 2015 ticking over for a few more years.”
