“Worked great. Had problems transferring data from the old 500gb SSD. Took the opportunity to blow dust out of the macbookpro and fix the right speaker as well. Replaced the CPU & GPU thermal paste nad it is runnijng like it used to.”

“My macbook is six years old but still a great workhorse because I bought the highest spec version. The small SDD has been an issue though, so I was delighted to find this upgrade for my model. The process of installation could not have been simpler, and the instruction video was perfectly clear. The drive works exactly as expected.
Only issue, which isn't OWC's vault, is that incomplete support by Apple for NVME drives causes unrequested restarts during the sleep cycle. The only solution, I was told (after exhaustive and frustrating searches), was to turn off deep sleep/hibernation. I've alerted macfixit to this issue so hopefully other purchasers will be aware of this.”
