OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual USB 3.1 Gen 1 & Thunderbolt 2 RAID Storage Enclosure with cables Reviews

I have recently retired an old RAID drive that was too slow nowadays and developing too much 'character'. I therefore had perfectly good drives to re-home in a new enclosure with a faster interface. The Mercury Elite Pro Dual fit the bill nicely and is performing to expectation. My only gribble is that this enclosure involves some time with a screwdriver and tiny screws. Not a problem in this case, but there a several models out now that incorporate a 'carrierless' mounting system which would be easier. All up, all good.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for shopping with us! We're very happy to have you as a customer. My name is Robert, I am the owner of Macfixit Australia and I was hoping that if you had a little more time and if it was not too much trouble perhaps you could also leave a note of your positive experience under the Google Reviews webpage for us as well. We find that unless we ask our customers, we very rarely have any positive notes left under this Google Review page and it certainly helps other potential customers in the decision making to determine if they should purchase from us. If you left your positive note I would very much appreciate it. Please find the short link to the Google Reviews website under below: search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJkafLvSFd1moRGQSKVe-ISS8 Thank you for your time and we hope to see you in our store again soon.

Easy to set up but unfortunately can be quite noisy, and there is no separate power button.

I fitted up the 1TB SSD, cloned my internal drive, set preferences to reboot from the SSD after renaming it and super speedup for booting and running software. Very happy, but to add another drive as Time Machine Backup

After following the enclosed instructions, the unit was easily fitted with two 4TB drives, configured as Raid 1,connected via Thunderbolt and worked first go. Using Disk Utility didn't seem to be necessary as the unit formatted both drives by itself.Works as expected.

Problems with using SSD in them. Using 2 of them with 4tb SSHD in Raid 0 and Raid 1 instead. Work flawlessly with those configurations with USB3 or TB.
