“The OWC Flex 8 chassis has been the combination worth waiting for. With 8 drive bays and a PCIe x4 card slot, TB3 and enough front facing ports that are usable.
It's looks also presents itself as not wanting to hide it away, and with a quiet set of fans allows it to stay at desktop level.
Currently running 1x SSD as a scratch disk and 7x spinning rust in RAID-5 array.
SSD R/W 525 / 445 QVO (1TB)
R5 R/W 1045 / 790 4TB IronWolf (24TB)
As a R0 array R/W 1230 / 1105 (28TB)
Packaging was exceptional - double boxed.
Delivery timeframe too was extremely good esp . with the current constraints.
OWC has lifted the bar for external storage enclosures.
