“I purchased this to replace the Thunderbolt port taken up by the Satechi hub, the mac mini only has 2 Thunderbolt ports, the monitor takes up the other one. The Hub works well. If used in the portrait mode all port are accessible. In the landscape mode it is either the front or back set of ports. For me, too make this really great, a front facing port would be fantastic. The computer port on the back would also improve the usability.
As such it still provides a workable solution for increasing the numbers of Thunderbolt ports.”

“Although I was very happy to finally find a powered hub which was dedicated to USB-C and Thunderbolt outlets, I was less than happy with the torturous delivery of the product, which took 2 weeks longer than originally promised, even though the warehouse was in the same city.
The OWC hub works very well, though it could do with some more attention to its physical design. The item is small & compact, but with up to 6 leads coming in and out of it, it can become physically unstable, especially if the leads are in a small space and need to be twisted. This can actually lift and/or rotate or even lift the unit off the desk surface, which in turn can easily make the socket connection loose and cut contact with peripherals. I think making the casing slimmer with a bigger surface area and adding suction pads on the bottom corners would make it more stable. I sdon't know if the sockets could be made magnetic, but the aim is to keep the connections lockable or at least more firm than now. Making a separate cradle, which could hold the hub and leads in place on the back of a monitor would also be a good space saver.”
“Purchased OWC Thunderbolt Hub for my new MacBook Pro, works great, provides power to the MBP and so far I’ve connected through the one hub a second hub which is thunderbolt 3, a 34” monitor and a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 dongle for my FireWire 800 sound card. All work great, so it’s a thumbs up for me”
