“Despite having this for only a few weeks, I have used this dock on over a dozen computers, mostly for backup and data migration purposes. I use this in a professional IT capacity, and use it heavily. So far it has been absolutely faultless in operation and has even provided an interface to intermittently functioning drives that other docks could not manage.
Transfer speeds are critical when faced with intermittent connectivity and imminent drive failure. In these conditions I have managed to get real world speeds of 75MB/s when transferring multitudes of small files on rotational drives and faster with SSDs. You can certainly argue that this is better than many docks even when in ideal conditions.
Now please note that both disk bays feature a SATA interface, and as such are limited to those speeds. However that is exactly what makes this dock so useful. The sheer ease you can buy and change hard disks is invaluable.
I like the ability to individually power the drives, and the ability to run them both at the same time. I can have two drives in, and disconnect them as needed to ensure I transfer or erase data on the correct drives.
This really is a true plug and play device that does exactly what it's meant to without compromising speed or reliability. In short, I highly recommend this dock.”

“I'm extremely happy with my OWC Dual Drive Dock. The USB-C connection is fast, and reliable. Cheap and easy backup option where it's easy to swap drives.
(A cheaper third party branded device I previously owned is now in the bin, as it was always dropping out, and sometimes trashing disks!)”
