The only real limitation is power and an external power adapter (not supplied) could address that”

“This is a great device, the finish makes it look likes its made by apple! The design is incredible and saves reaching around the back or moving the iMac around to reach the USB ports, BUT there is a very questionable flaw, in the images there is a external hard drive plugged into this hub which may or may not be accurate (without a power supply) as in the manual for this device it does note:
"for some usb devices to work, you may need to plug the power ac cable into the back of the Hub. (This product doesn't come with a power cable)"
Also in the description it states :
"It does not require any software or complicated installation process. With a slim design, it saves you precious desktop space" THERE IS NO MENTION OF A POWER SUPPLY MAY BE REQUIRED!
Now looking back I can see the hole for a power plug in the back of the unit.
So a little disappointed in what would otherwise be a perfect product, premium price and doesn't include a power supply that may or may not be needed, I would rather pay an extra $10-15 for a included power supply.
As I have seen what under-voltage usb ports do to external 2.5" hard drives (break the mechanical side of the drive) I wont risk loosing data until I get a power supply for this unit or just use the back ports for host power USB drives.

“The best accessory for an iMac that looks like it is part of the iMac, not an add-on. It is so much easier (and safer) to plugin USB sticks from the front without the gymnastics required to twist and rotate yourself and or the iMac to get to the rear ports.
The added ability to 'power' the hub using a power cable from a 2nd USB port on the iMac is brilliant. It means that even power-hungry USB drives can easily be connected from the front as well.
I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that it does seem to interfere with some bluetooth devices occasionally (eg., Logitech Mice can get a bit jumpy sometimes). We have not experienced any problems with Apple Keyboards / Mice though.
Hint - RTFM - on 27" iMacs make sure you plug it in to the 1st of 4th ports only.”
