Although the service in the beginning was good and the assistant was helpful in helping me pick a pen to customise and gift my husband whilst on a business trip to Melbourne.. the wrap-up and final presentation was a massive let down. I had just paid almost $80 for a pen only to be handed it in a white paper bag as if it were a $5 subway cookie. I was shocked the sales assistant thought it was ok handing it to me. Of course I asked why there was no proper box or DECENT packaging to which she replied “sorry we ran out”. Quite amusing since half the store also sells gift wrapping/packaging. When I then asked if they did gift wrapping she said it would be an EXTRA charge! Again, the audacity! To run out of packaging and then want to charge the customer. I obviously expressed my displeasure to the manager and after some reluctance he agreed to use one of the boxes “usually used for more expensive pens” to put mine in. Horrible way to end the experience. Can’t believe they ever thought throwing an expensive AND customised pen in a sandwich bag was ever going to be ok.
