We live in Rosebud which is a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula, and we are around 2KM from the beach. We have major shopping about 5 mins away and are 2 mins away from the freeway entrance back to Melbourne.
We are on 3/4 acre, and have all the mod cons as well as a pool if it gets hot.
I am wanting someone to look after our rescue dog while we go down to our holiay home in Gippsland. Unfortunately it is not fenced and there are copius dogs there, which Maxxie finds hard to handle.
She is a ridgeback/ Mastiff cross, and her name is Maxxie. She has had a rough trot over her life with the result that she is a bit anxious and requires some special care. She has the most beautiful nature, but although we have done constant training with her, she is always walked in areas where there are not likely to be any other dogs, so that means sometimes driving to the local oval or foreshore etc with her. I do not expect anyone to do this if you do not feel comfortable. She has been OK not being walked for a couple of weeks or so previously. She does like chasing a ball around the back yard as well. It is also not possible to leave her in the yard on her own for long periods of time. We are working on all of this, and although she is improving all of the time, and she is still currently a work in progress.
I would prefer someone who is home based, as, although she can be left for 2 - 4 hours inside on her own, she tends to get a little anxious if she is left alone for long periods of time. So people who are away from the house for a job or who are looking to spend long days away sightseeing are probably not suitable.
We will be leaving on the 28th September in the morning, and although not sure yet of the time, if you would like to stay the previous night to get the hang of how things work, I would welcome that. The same would be applicable on the return as we will be arriving home in the afternoon of the 1st October.
Many thanks,
Deb
