My name is Katie and I began my house sitting journey back in 2018, when I made the decision to leave life in Victoria and travel the stunning east coast of Australia on a solo venture. I fell in love with house sitting as a way of slow travelling, and as of November 2025 I have now completed over 60 house sits (via this platform, another popular platform, through social media and house sitting for work colleagues, as well as word of mouth!).
I met my wonderful partner Nick just over 5 years ago and he began joining me on my house sits. He too came to enjoy this lifestyle and all of the unique experiences we are only able to have whilst caring for the homes, properties and pets of people all over Australia.
We have now been travelling the country since early 2023 and after a lap and a half we are back in our favourite location, beautiful Esperance, WA š. We love the freedom of this way of living and all the amazing destinations, nature, animals and people we get to meet along the way.
A little more about us..
I'm 34 yrs old and love all things nature- peaceful walks, the ocean, mountains and forests.. I enjoy photography, writing, swimming, snorkelling, yoga, and exploring our beautiful country! In 2012 I graduated as an Occupational Therapist and went on to work in private psychiatry, aged care, pain management and disability. I am particularly passionate about natural health and wellness, spirituality and alternative medicine.
Nick is 33, a kind and gentle down to earth guy! He is a landscaper, plumber, self-taught mechanic and in general, a very clever tinkerer. Having grown up on farms (and assisting with running a family business), he is extremely knowledgeable and able to manage and fix anything that goes wrong- there is truly nothing he can't do. He loves being outdoors, fixing and building things, being amongst the livestock, chopping wood, playing guitar, cooking- anything hands on really!
We are both huge animal lovers. I come from a home on acreage that always had many rescue pets so I'm comfortable with all animals, large and small. We will LOVE and adore your pets as if they're our own, providing all the affection they need as well as exercise and daily photos to owners if they wish. We have found that many anxious pets quickly feel at ease in our presence due to our calm and safe energy. Furthermore, we have had many home owners ask us back to house sit for them again in the future and even plan their holiday dates around our availability.
*** The new addition to our little family ***
Last year we made a decision to bring a beautiful Border Collie puppy into our lives. Skyla was born in September 2024 and recently just turned 1 year old. She is a, bright, confident, and well-behaved little girl who loves being around other dogs. She is incredibly adaptable, enjoys travelling and adores everyone she meets.
As we are travelling full-time, she is with me 24/7 and I never leave her alone or unsupervised with other pets- therefore I am also able to offer your pets the same 24/7 presence. We do have a small vintage Viscount caravan we normally sleep in, however we are more than happy to stay in your home to be with your pets if they need to be with someone.
A little more about us:
Nick and I are very reliable and organised people who appreciate being in a clean environment. We are non-smokers and mostly non-drinkers (apart from the occasional glass of red wine) and use our own non-toxic products for cleaning. as well as our own bedding, towels, kitchenware, food, condiments, etc.
In summary:
House sitting has been an amazing gift in my life and Iām so glad I took the leap back in 2018. It has allowed us to see so much of this incredible country and meet so many wonderful people and new furry friends along the way.
