We are an English couple, both retired (Teacher and Printer), currently on a 5 year Visa, and hoping to obtain Australian PR and then Citizenship, to be near our daughter and family, in Sippy Downs and our son, and family, in Darwin.
Since arriving in Australia in April 2022 we have been house, pet (dogs, cats, birds, lizard and fish) and grandma! sitting for the vast majority of our time.
We have thoroughly enjoyed over 25 ‘sits’ and have been fortunate to care for many wonderful pets and homes and now have several regular bookings.
We have experience looking after many breeds of dogs and cats, of all ages and sizes; several rescue dogs and several with specific medical, nutritional and social needs.
Whilst the owners are away from home we do our utmost to ensure their pets are extremely well loved and cared for and we follow the owners’ instructions meticulously re feeds, exercise etc.
We regularly update the owners and keep in close contact by messaging and sending pictures by mobile and WhatsApp, and when requested FaceTime/phone or video calls.
We know how important this is to pet lovers as back in the UK we had our own gorgeous dog, ‘Laston’, a Labrador mix, for 16 years, from when she was 8 weeks old.
We also regularly cared for family and friends’ dogs and cats, both in the UK and in Portugal, when they had to leave them for a few days to several weeks.
We are both non-smokers and extremely neat and tidy and take great pride in looking after the homes, pools, plants, gardens etc. during our stays; endeavouring to ensure that these are all in the very best condition when the owners return home.
We have police checks, from the UK, Portugal and Spain, which we require for our Australian Visas.
We have many excellent 5* reviews on Mindahome and are looking forward to more wonderful ‘sits’ in the future.

We are always happy, and prefer before a sit is accepted, to do a ‘meet and greet’ with the owners so that they and ourselves can ask / answer questions etc. so that they would know that their pet/s, home, pool plants and gardens etc. would be in the best hands whilst they away.

“I had been very unlucky with previous house sits and was reluctant to go through it again. However, this time I hit the jackpot with Danielle and Peter! Just couldn’t ask for better carers of my boys (dogs) and my home. I received regular updates and photos which were very much appreciated. The boys were extremely spoilt and were even included in family outings. How special is that! I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Danielle and Peter. If you want total peace of mind, they are the ones to have look after your home and pets. I will definitely be asking them to sit for me again.”

“Danielle and Peter have cared for my dog Maggie and our house for the last week. They were excellent. Maggie is a fussy dog and needs medication daily and they cared for her so well. They sent me updates and pictures frequently. My house was cleaner than when I left and everything well looked after. I would definitely have Danielle and Peter back again.”

“From the moment I met both Peter and Danielle I knew that they were the people for me. The house and more importantly my dog Mille were cared for while I was away. They followed the instructions given, were very prompt in corresponding with me while I was away. Millie was happy and well cared for, my plants were amazing. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone and I hope to have them again for a repeat house sit if they are available”
