Hi everyone,
Our names are Stewart and Elaine, and we are a retired couple originally from Melbourne and have spent the last 3 years travelling around Australia in a caravan, but now have settled in the Mandurah area. We plan to split our time between house sits, living aboard our houseboat and travel.
We have a house-sitting engagement booked from now through to mid-August, and then taking the rest of 2025 off to enjoy a few pre-planned trips.
Our preferred length of any house sits would be between 7 days and up to 4 weeks, from the start of 2026. Generally our preferred sit would be around Perth, surrounding suburbs and even South and South West WA.
A little about us:
* Stewart was a professional fire-fighter for 46 years, serving throughout the state of Victoria, ending his career in Melbourne as a Senior Station Office where we previously lived for 16 years.
* Elaine was for many years in travel management back in her home country of Canada and here in Australia, as well as a 2-year stint overseas teaching English to primary school age children in South Korea.
Amongst our varied skills that we bring to this house-sitting lifestyle is that we have learned how to think on our feet and adapt quickly to whatever life (and the weather) throws at us!
While we genuinely do love animals, we acknowledge that we are not overly familiar with farm animals but are not afraid of any larger animals. Therefore our preference would be a property where the furry companions are dogs, cats, other domesticated pets or chickens, ducks etc which we have looked after before. In terms of caring for a property, we are happy to do light gardening (i.e., watering, weeding, grass cutting and/or pool maintenance).
