We are a physically active, non-smoking couple. We both attend a gym on a regular basis, and we enjoy walking and cycling and are interested in animals, meeting new people, gardening, food and nutrition.
Since retirement we have downsized and live in and own a house in Lakeview Springs, Hervey Bay QLD.
I enjoy fishing, playing the djembe and congas, growing exotic chillies and orchids, whilst my wife is an occasional artist.
We both love to travel, and we have been fortunate enough to have visited quite a few countries in Europe and Asia. A number of years ago we walked, unsupported, from Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central in France to Conques, a distance of approximately 260 kms.
Prior to retirement we planned to do some international housesitting, however a number of factors, including the Covid – 19 pandemic, have caused us to reduce the scope of our house-sitting plans to opportunities in Australia.
As house sitting is a relatively new adventure for us, our house-sitting experiences to date have been limited to caring for a diabetic cat and her home in Strathfield Sydney, looking after a small farm in rural NSW, and house sits in Toowoomba, Leura, Wentworth Falls and Hervey Bay. We have also looked after a family property, their children and pets whilst the parents were on holidays.
We see housesitting as an opportunity to visit new places and take the time to enjoy all that the new locations have to offer.
We no longer have our own pets, however over the years we have had a variety of pets including, dogs, cats, (Russian Blue) and horses. I used to enjoy training young horses using the Parelli Method of Natural Horsemanship.
So, what do we have to offer as a team? Between us in our working lives we have clocked up many years of looking after other people, their property and to some extent, their animals. Both of us have held very responsible positions and have cherished the trust placed in us. We love gardening and improving our property, in this case, our new home. We are independent, resourceful and above all, honest, ethical and trustworthy.
Not having our own pets now, allows us to offer our services a house sitter. We have always enjoyed the company of the various cats, dogs, and horses we have owned over the years. We know you will be more than happy with the services we are able to provide.
