We are Denise and Richard. Originally from Ireland, we’ve been living in Victoria, Australia for over 30 years. 2 of our 4 ‘children’ live with us in our home in Geelong.
We fell into house sitting when we met a couple who had a 50 acre bush block in 2017. We stayed at their property, looking after their dogs, chickens and ducks. We really enjoyed the experience of house sitting, and we have been back to look after their house and animals many times since then, for both short and long periods. Being able to work from home which has given us the flexibility to house sit for extended periods.
We have had many pets over the years ourselves, including a dog, cats, birds, Guinea pigs, a rabbit, and fish.
As house sitters, we are well organised, responsible people, and we respect that this is your home. As such, we will be looking after your home and pets as if they were ours. So we take pride in keeping your place well maintained and clean, and your animals well looked after.
As for us, we are non-smokers, and generally love the great outdoors. In 2021, we completed a nature stewards program.
We like cycling, cycle touring, camping, hiking, walking, and wildlife. Richard is vegan, while I’m largely vegetarian, and we enjoy cooking different dishes. We both like reading, I love jigsaw puzzles, and Richard often plays the ukulele when at home.
For us, house sitting has been a way to explore and immerse into other life experiences. While we do love different adventures, one thing you can be sure of is that we will take great care of your pets and house while you are away.
