I had a twenty-two year career in the Royal Australian Navy, retiring as a Warrant Officer. Then I started a new diplomatic career with the Foreign Affairs department. My wife Renate is a retired school teacher. Since retirement we have been travelling Australia mainly in our caravan with occasional house sitting. This year (2023) we have been house sitting using another housesitting service. We have received a five-star star from each. We have joined Aussie House Sitting to broaden our opportunities.
All of our house sits were pet sits too, mainly dogs both large and small, and of course cats.
One house sit had two dogs and two horses, each day the horse had to have their sun shades (like sunglasses) put on and taken off at night.
Perhaps our most memorable house sit was actually a farm and despite not having farming experience we managed to look after 200 sheep, 17 cattle, 4 chooks and two dogs. We had numerous lambs and calves born during our tenure.
