We are Kaja and Rebeka, a calm, compassionate couple who have spent the past year and a half travelling across Australia while caring for pets and homes. We are reliable, organised, and genuinely love the quiet companionship of animals and the sense of home that pet and house sitting brings.
Kaja holds an MA in Cultural Studies and previously worked in marketing and sales, while Rebeka has a BSc in Biology and over four years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry. We are both non-smokers, respectful of other people’s homes, and naturally tidy and responsible.
WHY WE LOVE PET & HOUSE SITTING
Since we are unable to have pets of our own at the moment, pet and house sitting has become a truly meaningful part of our lives. It allows us to stay closely connected with animals, maintain a sense of routine and grounding, and feel at home wherever we are.
We understand how difficult it can be to leave your pets and home behind, so we approach every pet sit with care, attentiveness, and responsibility. Our goal is always to provide peace of mind to homeowners and comfort, stability, and gentle companionship to their pets.
OUR EXPERIENCE WITH ANIMALS
Over the past year and a half, we have completed 15 pet sits across Australia, ranging from short stays to long-term sits of up to two months (completed across multiple pet and house sitting platforms - references available upon request). Our experience spans a wide variety of animals, breeds, personalities, and care needs.
Dogs:
We have cared for large, medium, and small breeds, including Great Dane, Spanish Alano, German Shepherds, Groodles, Labradors, English Staffy, Vizsla, Whippet, rescue Kelpie mixes, Hound mixes, Bichon Frise/Poodle, Maltese/Shih Tzu, West Highland Terrier, and other mixes.
We are confident with large breeds, energetic dogs, senior dogs, shy or sensitive dogs, and dogs with reactive or anxious behaviour. We understand canine body language and stress signals and adapt our approach to suit each dog’s temperament and routine.
Cats:
We both grew up with cats and are very comfortable caring for cats of all ages and personalities, including Bengals, rescue cats, shy and anxious cats, senior cats, and cats requiring daily medication. We respect feline boundaries and understand their subtle communication cues.
Medical & Special Needs Care:
Through our pet sits, we have gained hands-on experience with pets requiring additional support, including:
– Daily medications (including ear drops, eye drops, supplements, pain management)
– Senior pets needing slower routines and gentle handling
– Dogs with IVDD, arthritis, and mobility challenges
– Chronically ill pets requiring consistency, observation, and calm care
– Supporting pets during unexpected health declines, including assisting with home vet visits and following veterinary guidance responsibly
Other Animals:
Our experience also includes caring for chickens, fish, Mongolian gerbils, parrots, and hand-feeding wild kookaburras.
Before coming to Australia, we also travelled through Europe via the Workaway platform, where we cared for dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, and rural properties.
HOUSE & PROPERTY CARE
We take house sitting as seriously as pet care. We are clean, organised, and respectful sitters who naturally maintain a calm and tidy home environment. Having lived together for over ten years and having rented multiple homes, we are well accustomed to caring for properties and managing daily household responsibilities.
Through house sitting and Workaway placements, we have also assisted with gardening, basic maintenance, and upkeep of both urban and rural properties. Homes are always left clean, tidy, and well cared for.

We love hiking, swimming, spending time in nature, and living a quiet, balanced lifestyle. We are homebodies at heart and genuinely enjoy spending time at home with the animals in our care, keeping them company and maintaining calm routines.
