I am a semi retired Education Consultant with four grown up children and three wonderful grand daughters. I love hiking, camping, reading and sewing in my spare time. I am a vegan non-smoker and non-drinker.

I love to travel - and would like to support other people to travel too, by looking after their homes while they have wonderful adventures!

I have done house and pet sitting on and off over the past few years and am happy to look after any kind of pet. My four children had a menagerie at times, so have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice (eek), lizards, snakes, birds, fish, axolotls, turtles and frogs. As a teacher I also had a steady stream of interesting insects (stick insects, spiny leaf insects and scorpions) in the classroom.

Please note that I do still work on some days and so am not always available to be with pets all day long.

“What a blessing Amanda is! From the moment we first spoke to Amanda until the end of the housesit, she was kind, friendly and an excellent communicator, as well as being very organised and thorough in making sure she understood what was required. She checked whether we'd like updates while we were away and also checked in when she had questions. We loved the photos and video she sent of our cat looking very relaxed and happy in Amanda's company! We arrived home to a spotless house and an extremely content cat. We can't recommend Amanda highly enough for anyone who's looking for a reliable, lovely person to take care of their pets and home so that they can go away and not have to worry about a single thing. “I was so relaxed leaving my 7 year old cavoodle in the hands of Amanda. She is calm and caring and very organised. Amanda has excellent communication skills and she stayed in touch sending updates and photos. The house was left so clean and tidy and the garden and my plants were well cared for. I highly recommend Amanda for any housesits.”
