Hello there! We are Leia (27) and Jake (28), a married British couple, here in Australia on WHV. We have been pet/house sitting in Melbourne and Sydney since December.
Prior to our travels, Leia dedicated five years to teaching English at a secondary school. Meanwhile, Jake honed his skills as a Level Four LTA tennis performance coach, and therefore, we both hold thorough DBS checks.
As homeowners ourselves, renting out our place (as pictured) while we explore your beautiful country, we understand the significance of entrusting your home and possessions to reliable caretakers. We promise to treat your home as we hope someone would treat ours.
Both of us grew up surrounded by animals, and for the past few years, we've jointly cared for our parents' dogs—a lively mix of two big Labradors, a sprightly Sprocker, and a tiny Chihuahua. Leia’s love for animals extends even further; during her university years, she fostered rabbits for the RSPCA, helping nervous bunnies blossom into friendly companions.
If you have other types of animals needing love and attention, we are happy to accommodate their needs. We'll undertake the necessary research to properly care for them, ensuring they receive the same level of affection and attention as our own furry friends.
For hobbies, Jake is obviously a tennis enthusiast, but he also loves to run. He recently completed a 60 km fundraiser, raising almost £20,000 for a little girl who needed medical treatment after a life-changing incident; she was one of his tennis students. Leia much prefers to sit down with a good book and cuddle with the dogs. However, she has recently undertaken a program to build her endurance and is now working towards running up to 10k.
