Hello, we are Bee and JD :-) We can imagine how anxious you might feel about leaving your belongings, home, garden and treasured pet (if you have one) in the care of virtual strangers. Also the constant worry you may endure hoping you find someone suitable in time and praying they'll be the right choice. We can appreciate the stress you might be going through and we are sorry. Rest assured, you will not find better people who understand animals and keep your property tidy, secure and maintained.
A BIT ABOUT US
I'm Bee, a cat lover and writer, born in Melbourne, Victoria.
My husband JD, is a software developer, a dog lover and grew up on a farm in the Wheatbelt in Western Australia.

CONTACT AND VISITS
-We will visit you well before the sit starts and have a WhatsApp video call with you in the meantime, at least a phone call, so we can 'meet' and get to know each other a bit beforehand.
-If you have pets, we are happy to send you regular photos and short videos of them while you're away so you know they're okay.
-We kindly ask that you respect us, our time and travel expenses. Please don't arrange for us to visit you when you are planning to choose someone else for your sit.
WE WILL REMAIN AT YOUR PROPERTY
We are not tourists. We both work for ourselves, from our laptops, part-time, which means we don't have to go anywhere and will be at home on your property all day and night. If you have pets, they will get loads of attention.
PET EXPERIENCE
If yours is a pet-sit, between us (up until 2015), we have had our own cats, dogs, chickens, goats, guinea pigs and horses.
We are animal welfare advocates and care very much for their overall wellbeing.
GARDEN EXPERIENCE
JD is an avid gardener and veggie grower - see pics in our profile of flowering potato crop, tomato harvest and JD building another possum proof veggie cage. He also enjoys weeding.
I seem to have success with indoor plants.
WE ARE HEALTHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
-We lived fully off-grid for a year so we understand the need to conserve water and power.
-We are non-drinkers, non-smokers, vegetarian, recyclers, composters, we walk daily or do yoga.
-We use chemical free, perfume free, biodegradable, grey water and septic tank safe bathroom, laundry and cleaning products (incl vinegar and bi- carb soda).
WE DON'T HAVE THESE
Children, pets, caravan, motorhome. There will be no guests dropping by.
WE WILL PROVIDE
We will bring our own food and beverages, most bedding, hairdryer, towels, toiletries, loo paper and some kitchen items including tea towels.
IDENTITY
If it seems likely that we will sit for you, we can send pics of our driver's licences to you. We are married but my maiden name is still on all my ID and documents.
REFERENCES
We are also on another housesit website and I can send a screenshot of these reviews as well.
The reviews here don't mention the plumbing, electrical, fencing and other handyman work that we needed to do to the houses and properties.
SECURITY
-If you don't own your home, we are unlikely to sit for you.
-We will not agree to inspections or maintenance from real estate agents and their workers.
-We will not agree to any neighbours, friends or family coming in or near your house or property while you're away
-We will not agree to co-workers or tradesmen, vehicles and machinery entering or leaving the house or property with regards to renovations while you're away.
We kindly ask that you please
-Communicate to the necessary people to wait until you have come back.
-Arrange for any inspections, maintenance and renovation work to continue after you return.
SPECIAL SKILLS
-JD is an excellent handyman and can fix, at least decipher, almost any electrical, plumbing and fencing issue, as well as operate almost any vehicle and mechanical contraption.
-We would appreciate if you don't take this for granted or continue to ask us to fix parts of your house and property when you would otherwise need to pay for a tradesman to do the same job.
-I'm the cleaner and will leave your house spotless!
MORE ABOUT US & OUR TRAVELS
-We don't have any children together, but JD has two adult boys, one living in Melbourne with his family and the other in Ottawa, Canada with his wife.
-JD and I have been together since 2013. We have lived mostly in the leafy, pretty, north eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
-JD and I have been to Hawaii, Hong Kong, UK, Ireland, Singapore and parts of Europe. We have both lived and frequently travelled through Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
2022 - travelled in Europe.
2023/ 2024 - lived in Latrobe, Tas.
2024/ 2025 - lived in Mole Creek, Tas (central highlands) on 190 acre property which was fully off-grid.
