We are a couple from Melbourne who spent most of the year in Queensland building our dream - a custom 4WD motorhome to travel Australia in. We are in NSW right now, heading to Melbourne to see our families for Christmas.
We are experienced house sitters who relish the change of scene, and approach each sit with the conscientiousness and care that we'd hope and expect if someone was in our home, back in Melbourne. We wish we'd known about house sitting when we had a dog!
We had a senior greyhound in Melbourne (who has passed on), we absolutely love animals and we will happily look after your pet/s with great care, affection and attention. Given our dog was elderly, we are familiar with the special care that some animals need. We understand pets have varied personalities and particulars. We also know the benefit of sitting is to keep animals in a happy routine, so we take this responsibility seriously.
A bit about us:
We are both non-smokers.
James: I am a greenkeeper by trade and enjoy all aspects of garden maintenance. I have worked hard in my career to semi retire, allowing me to project manage the motorhome build in this interim period.
Emily: I am a journalist and a broadcaster. I will be WFH on my laptop as a freelance writer for major newspapers in Melbourne and Sydney during any house-sitting periods, which we hope will provide pets in our care with the comfort of ongoing, daily companionship.
We both held management positions in Melbourne and take the responsibility of house sitting seriously. We are currently landlords of a property in Melbourne, and have also been tenants with unblemished track records, and would treat your home as we would our own. We are leasing out our Melbourne property, and so we empathise with the gravity of having someone in your home.
