G’day, I’m a single, mature guy with the flexibility to travel and work from just about anywhere.

I’ll be in Tasmania in 2026. I’m already committed to two house sitting assignments but could be available for others, if dates and locations work out.

When it comes to house and animal sitting, I take a flexible approach and try my best to be as helpful as I possibly can. I prefer longer house sits to shorter periods and also lean to slightly more remote properties away from hustle and bustle. But I’m also quite flexible so feel free to drop me a line about your place.

I am relatively new to this organised form of house sitting. My recent assignments include an 8-week house sit on a completely off-grid 70-acre property on Kangaroo Island. I took care of this primary property with an extra large vegetable garden and orchard plus chicken; as well as the lawns and gardens at the owner’s separate Airbnb property. I have also cared for a couple of dogs, a pony, five sheep and five chickens on a 5-acre property in north-east Victoria.

Other than these recent gigs, I have cared for the homes and pets of family, friends and friends-of-friends. This ranges from suburban homes with domestic pets (dogs, cats, birds and fish), through to helping out on a sheep ram stud farm and with agisted cattle.

My passions are for travelling to wilderness areas; encounters with birds and animals (particularly native wildlife); sailing and photography. When travelling, I prefer to take my time to enjoy the journey... rather than rushing to a destination.

My love of animals began during my childhood when I helped dad with his extensive aviary of Australian parrots and finches. I also had responsibility for our family cat, called Tiger.

I’ve had the pleasure of blending my love for nature and animals into my working life. I spent a number of years working at Taronga Zoo where I had many up-close-and-personal encounters with both native and exotic wildlife. I have also worked to promote conservation of Australia's marine environment.

We were incredibly happy with Scott as our house sitter. He looked after our home and our dog Merlot while we were away, and we couldn’t fault him. Scott cared for the house as if it were his own, kept everything tidy and well looked after, and he also helped us with a few small tasks that needed doing while we were away. His communication was excellent, he was friendly and easy to deal with, and he made everything feel simple and stress-free. We felt completely at peace knowing our property and Merlot were in such good hands. We would happily recommend Scott to anyone and would welcome him back anytime.

Thank you Scott for answering my urgent call for a short sit. It was greatly appreciated. I can highly recommend Scott for his care and attention to my pets. I came home to happy dogs, a well fed pony and contented sheep. Scott was easy to communicate with and provided updates on their care. I found my home in an immaculate state and was able to relax while away knowing that he was taking great care of everything. A fantastic sitter.
