Hello!
We are a reliable, caring, animal-loving couple based in South Australia.
ESPECIALLY LOOKING FOR NT IN AUGUST (or early September) 2026.

We've been homeowners for over 35 years, so understand the importance of respecting this precious asset and keeping things running smoothly. We’re tidy, trustworthy and committed to making your time away stress-free.

I’m an author (Sandy Vaile) and fiction coach, and my husband is newly retired, so we are looking forward to travelling more. We enjoy the quiet life, nature walks and dining out. Our favourite places to stay are rural areas.

Over the years, we’ve shared our lives with large dogs, horses, guinea pigs, birds and even spinifex hopping mice.
During our house-sitting adventures we've cared for sheep, dogs, horses, chickens, fish, an axolotl and gardens.
So, we’re confident with big and small animals, and treat them with the kindness and cuddles our furry (or scaled or feathered) friends deserve.

“Sandy and Mark went above and beyond to look after our property and pets. The animals were happy and well fed. The house was spotless when we returned. They made sure to keep in touch but never in a way that interrupted our holiday. Gardens were looked after and lawns mowed. They were thoughtful and caring. “Sandy and Mark saved the day for me with a changeover of another sitter due to a medical appointment. Thank you so much. Sandy and Mark were easy to communicate with and kept me updated throughout the time of the sit, asking questions as needed. All the animals were well looked after and I felt very comfortable with them both. The house was immaculate on my return, I cannot thank them enough or recommend them more highly. I was even treated to some home made quiche on my return. Five stars all round for them.”
