Hi, we’re Tara and Selim — a married couple in our 30s/40s with a deep love for animals, nature, and a flexible lifestyle that makes us ideal house and pet sitters.
We met nearly 10 years ago while working for NGOs at sea and began house-sitting and pet-sitting between campaigns. Since then, house-sitting has become an important and fulfilling part of our lives.
Over the past 2.5 years, we’ve cared for 18 different homes (many of them we have returned to more than once), building strong relationships with homeowners and their pets. We’ve looked after a wide range of animals — from senior cats to energetic puppies, shy rescue dogs to farm animals — and have become familiar with many breeds and personalities. Our experience, combined with patience and a genuine love for animals, helps pets feel safe and settled in our care.
We both work casually, and Tara does half of her work remotely, which means one or both of us is nearly always at home — offering your pets plenty of company, walks, playtime, and cuddles. Tara is also a professional pet photographer, so she’s well used to working calmly and gently with animals.
We’re clean, respectful, and trustworthy. We don’t smoke or drink, and we maintain a vegan lifestyle. We're also happy to keep your garden watered and tidy and to help out with small maintenance tasks.
Because we live a semi-nomadic lifestyle, house-sitting is the perfect way for us to feel at home — and we treat every home and pet we care for with the same love and responsibility as if they were our own. We’re proud to be frequently invited back and always leave homes spotless and pets happy.
We can’t have pets of our own right now, so house sitting is the perfect way to enjoy animal companionship. We love exploring new parts of Melbourne, being in nature, and sharing walks and cuddles with the pets we care for.
