We're retired and relaxed and open to new places where we can still be relaxed while helping others get a holiday break. We are best suited for house-sits no longer than two weeks as we have our mum in a nursing home nearby and we don't want to ignore her, yet there are times when we need a break too.
2017 was our year of moving from Sydney to Canberra, downsizing out of our home of 22 years . Needing housing while awaiting the completion of our Canberra townhouse, we embarked on house-sitting for the first time and completed two extended house-sits with dogs. These were most enjoyable and mutually beneficial .
Settled in Canberra now, we are enjoying the flexibility of retirement giving us time for new learning opportunities, walking and motor-scooter touring - exploring new places of interest. We have completed house-sits on rural properties as well as regional centres and in Sydney.
Andrew grew up on farms, so is used to animals of all sorts. We maintained a pool in our Sydney residence from 1995 to 2017.
We have lived overseas in US, UK and Asia and rented out our own home in those times. Thus we have experience as homeowners, landlords and tenants.
We experience great delight in maintaining an orderly home with a welcoming atmosphere.
We are non smokers and have no pets to accompany us on house-sits. We need at least a Queen-size bed please as Andrew is 193cm tall.
