“After travelling for six weeks we came home to a tidy and reasonably clean house with clean sheets, therefore the one star awarded. After their departure it became obvious that they did not bother to read our dossier and did things “their way”. Our westie got very little exercise and was fed bags of low quality treats, which resulted in a heavy weight gain. My complaint afterwards was shrugged off. Our furniture and decorations were rearranged or put away!! They freely took many items from the pantry and the beverage fridge was emptied of soft drinks. The oven had bits of Christmas dinner still stuck to it and most beds in the house had been used (a family sleepover?). I do not recommend Sonja and Albert as home sitters.”

“Like having a visit from your judgy inlaws I came home to find my dog underfed despite showing, explaining and leaving written instructions. (most of the food I had supplied was unused). He was only given part of his medication, despite daily doses prepared in a dispenser. A passive-aggressive note was left saying Eddie seems to be in pain and I should take him to the vet.Yes. He’s geriatric, arthritic, and in constant pain, which they knew about and said they were experienced with. An ironic note to leave considering not administering all of his pain medication. My furniture and decor had been rearranged! When asked, they said they rearranged the house as they were dissatisfied with the lighting, denied missing the meds and complained about a non-existent flea issue (We do have mosquitoes, which, again was discussed in advance). I felt judged and my space was violated.”

Regarding our westie dog, Sonja and Albert did not bother to read our instructions and did things “their way”. Mini got very little exercise and was fed bags of low quality treats, which resulted in a heavy weight gain. My complaint afterwards was shrugged off. I was also surprised to see our furniture and decorations rearranged or put away, so brazen and uncalled for in another person’s home. For us it wasn’t a good first experience with home sitters.”
