About Us:
Lance and I live on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand.
We have a lifestyle block by the beach that keeps us busy during the summer months. We host guests in cabins near our home and on our glamping site. We tend to large vegetable gardens and a small orchard.
Lance comes from a farming background, has 'green fingers' and loves animals. His adored pets have included cats, dogs, horses and goats. I (Michelle) have come from the tourism and hospitality industry and in 2017 we started house sitting internationally during our 'off peak season'.... we've been doing this every year since with the exception of COVID times.
We are both very house proud, like to live in a clean environment and do not smoke or drink. We walk most days and are in good health. Neither of us have police records. We are considered by peers to be honest, reliable and trustworthy. Basically, we are happy ‘Kiwis’, keen to help and care for your loved ones and love to travel.
Why we want to house sit:
During the winter we like to take time out, work on business plans and seek some warmth. We believe the winter escape is good for our health and well being. We particularly enjoy house minding as it feels like ‘home away from home’.. We love getting to know a community, it surrounds and hidden secrets. Primarily it’s a time for us to relax, enjoy and get to know your pets and do things like prepare our own meals, read books and walk lots. Your pets and 'odd jobs' make us feel like we are part of the family.
Our experience:
We've been caring for pets and homes since 2017. Two weeks to six month periods.
'Homeowners’ properties varied from basic beach houses to luxurious mansions. As far as Puerto Rico but typically Queensland, Australia. We've looked after cats, dogs, birds, LOTS of plants, sick animals and even people - on one occasion a 17 year old daughter and another an extra 'eye and ear' for a special needs guy.
We've been through a hurricane and a fire season, protected properties where required and undergone high security checks.
We now consider ourselves experienced house sitters and are open to most positions. All our home owners have invited us back and on all accounts were very happy with our service. We have references should you want to see them. Lance and I are more than happy to talk via the phone, over face time or email. We adapt to new environments well and are practical people.
