“Do all your bonsai trees die? Well build one out of Lego.Overall I like the set. It looks pretty good, fairly realistic. It comes with two leaf sets. Green and pink and white (representing cherry blossoms). The green looks pretty weak. They look like cheap Lego leaf pieces. The pink and white option looks way better and more full. Lego really dropped the ball with the green. It does look like a bonsai. I think the trunk and brown branches could be refined a little more. Too many unfinished exposed sides. It looks like the forgot to finish certain sides when designing. Also the brown vines are not clear how to wrap them around the trunk from the photoOverall it's a nice looking kit with the pink and white. It does look mostly like a bonsai, uneven rough surfaces. I just wish they put more effort into the green leaf option that they did with the pink and white. And the brown trunk and branches could use a little more layers or design improvement.Fun gift and not an overly expensive kit.”
“This is even more adorable than I could’ve ever imagined. The frogs are the most cutest little things and made it 10x better. Super fun to put together, looked amazing, delivered quick and nothing was missing. 15/10 recommend :)”
“If I was to rate this set on it's final finished form, I'd likely give it a 5 star review. It looks great, especially if you go with the cherry blossom leaves. I have to judge it though on the entire build though, and there I have some issue with this set.Its a bit misleading to call this an 878 piece build for a couple of reasons. Both Green and Pink leaves have different builds and you can only use one at a time. So unless you want to build the extra branches and store them somewhere they wont break apart, you're better off just leaving them in the bag (or if you have some sort of spare Lego storage, dumping the parts in there) Along with that, the Pink pack has significantly more pieces than the green. There are nearly 200 parts for the pink leaves. so if you don't use those, that drops the build down to just over 600+. Then, 200 pieces of the build are the little stones that sit inside the plant pot. The only instructions for those pieces is to mix them all up and pour into the pot. So that brings the actual build to around 400+, or around half of what's actually advertised on the build. This might not be that big of deal to someone who just wants an attractive Lego build to display but if you're the type who wants something in-depth, well it's just not that complicated of a build.Speaking of build difficulty, the branches of the tree were pretty underwhelming. It's literally a case of do the exact same steps 9 times and attach to branches, which uses up over half the parts depending on which color you go with.My other big problem is the fact that there are two tree types. I like the variety and choice, but as mentioned, which ever leaves you don't use just get wasted and if you're not the type to hold onto spare Lego's, then the parts will probably get thrown away or stuffed in a junk drawer to collect dust for a decade and then thrown away.”
“Smaller than I thought it would be overall but still absolutely worth the money. I started to build this and then my son took over and stole it from me. It’s not sitting in his room because he thinks it’s really cute”
“I have been waiting for this set to come back in stock for a while and was thrilled that it FINALLY happened. This was such a fun and easy build. My husband and I decided that we wanted the pink leaves and frogs(what a clever usage!). You even have enough leaves to add more limbs if one prefers even though you have to purchase a few pieces to make that happen. We are so glad we got this set and we wish everyone Happy Lego-ing!!!”
